"A man who wants to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd." Max Lucado
I love these kinds of days! Listening to some top guys who have started their own companies and what their advice was is always an incredible experience. Bryan mentioned at the end of the day that one of the best things to do is listen and observe and that is what I wanted to do today.
Colm said a statement that stood out to me when talking about being in an interview and he said, "tell me about some mistakes you've made. Identify them and tell me about the ones you weren't able to fix but had courage to say that you couldn't accomplish or fix it." This stood out to me because I would not think of being so raw and humble in an interview for a position that I want. He went on to say, "everyone and there mother has a degree, it's how you take direction and what you can offer." I took away that this is how I should position myself to a potential employer and no matter how much experience I have I can still stand out.
I did notice something about myself that I haven't noticed before. In settings with top professionals, I have a difficult time coming up with questions because I do not feel like I have enough knowledge about the business world to know where to start with questions.
