It was a long day, but full of applicable insight. The main takeaway that I got after listening to Paul is that he hires for stories and attitudes. This is my final class and all that is on my mind is what job I'm going to get next and what position I would thrive in. My fear is to be in a career and hate every day that I have to go there. When he said he hires for the attitudes and stores, that makes me think of how I need to appeal to a more personal side when in the interview process. This is definitely a weakness of mine because it's always business and task oriented for everything I do.
For all the of the speakers it was really good to hear how they all generally had the same underlying lessons that they have learned from start up businesses. The one thing that I learned for the first time today was that there needs to be a market for a product before anything can be successful. It's about finding a need and filling it.
